AT&T is the only union friendly wireless company in the United States of America. The AFL-CIO has asked AT&T to develop a promotion that will both increase AT&T growth and provide union members a discount on their wireless accounts. All AFL-CIO union or affiliate union members who visit a company owned retail store and sign a two year agreement will receive a 10% monthly discount.
These savings can be awarded by visiting your local AT&T Mobility offices listed below and presenting the Union Member Discount Card or simply mentioning the program.

We had a great turnout for the St. Patricks Day Parade this year! It's great to see new faces every year along with our friends from the prior years.
The day started under rainy skies....it didn't look like it would stop in time. But right before 11:00, the rain stopped and off we went!Special thanks to Barry Greene and Tom Cosgrove for all their hard work in preparing for the parade. They spent many hours organizing and shopping for the parade. Thank you to McPhee Electric Ltd. for donating their truck to use for our float.
See the pictures in the Image Gallery.

Local 35 will be participating in the Hartford St. Patricks Day Parade again this year. We are looking for members to help decorate our float and ride in the parade. There are sign up sheets in the JATC and the union hall.
If you are interested, please meet at the union hall at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008. We will decorate the float at the hall and then proceed downtown to the parade.
If you just want to be in the parade or be a spectator, the parade starts at 11:00. Hope to see you there! It's a lot of fun and a great chance to get out and be active in the community.

The Second District now has a Political Website and has begun the "GET ACTIVE" Program.
They have asked that we have all members, supporters and family members of Local Unions in the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts register at the www.ibewfightback.com website.
The website is an online political activist tool which will enable Second District members to have a voice in support or opposition to legislative issues affecting workers in all branches of the I.B.E.W. This site will also be working in collaboration with the I.B.E.W. Political Department and the AFL-CIO to send out messages to all participants for national legislative issues affecting the I.B.E.W. such as the Employee Free Choice Act, Davis-Bacon, etc.
