Preamble to the Constitution of the IBEW The Objects of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers are: To organize all workers in the entire electrical industry in the United States and Canada, including all those in public utilities and electrical manufacturing, into local unions; To promote reasonable methods of work; To cultivate feelings of friendship among those of our industry; To settle all disputes between employers and employ­ees by arbitration (if possible); To assist each other in sickness or distress; To secure employment; To reduce the hours of daily labor; To secure adequate pay for our work; To seek a higher and higher standard of living; To seek security for the individual, and by legal and proper means to elevate the moral, intellectual and social conditions of our members, their families and dependents, in the interest of a high­er standard of citizenship.

IBEW 490 has a big opportunity coming up, and you can play a HUGE role. The State of New Hampshire is studying the State Energy Site Evaluation process, and they are asking for public input at "Citizen Workshops" coming up in a few weeks. We need a strong showing of IBEW members and people who want to create more jobs in New Hampshire. Will you attend one of these Workshops? For all workshops: Registration begins at 5pm; kick-off is at 6pm December 3, 2013 at the Manchester Memorial High School Cafeteria in Manchester December 4, 2013 at the Groveton High School Gymnasium in Groveton December 5, 2013 at the Keene Recreation Center in Keene December 9, 2013 at the Town of Newington Main Hall in Newington December 10, 2013 at the Plymouth Regional High School (86 Old Ward Bridge Road).
