Occupy Update December 19, 2011


50 people were arrested as members of OWS tried to occupy a fenced in lot known as Duarte Square which is owned by Trinity Church. The New York Times reported on Friday that this conflict between the church and protestors had been coming for weeks as well as that, owing to a land grant from colonial days, Trinity Church is a large property owner in lower Manhattan. Nobel Peace Prize Winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu, has urged Trinity to allow OWS to camp there.
